Nikita Gudimchuk is Head of the Cytoskeleton Biophysics Laboratory at the Center for Theoretical Problems of Physico-Chemical Pharmacology (CTPPCP) and a Senior Research Scientist at the Faculty of Physics, Lomonosov Moscow State University.
He teaches courses in Molecular Foundations of Biological Motility, Molecular Modeling in Biology, and Biophysics at the Faculty of Physics, Lomonosov Moscow State University.
Nikita graduated from the Faculty of Physics at Lomonosov Moscow State University in 2009. Between 2008 and 2013, he conducted experimental research as a visiting scholar at the Department of Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental Biology at the University of Colorado Boulder and the Department of Physiology at the University of Pennsylvania. His work focused on the in vitro reconstitution of kinetochore–microtubule interactions using optical microscopy and optical tweezers. In 2013, he earned his PhD in Biophysics under the supervision of Fazly Ataullakhanov, studying kinetochore–microtubule interactions at CTPPCP, Russian Academy of Sciences. He has led the Cytoskeleton Biophysics Laboratory since 2019. In 2022, he was awarded the Doctor of Science degree in Biophysics, equivalent to a habilitation.
Nikita is a proud alumnus of the first Bangalore Microscopy Course, held in Bangalore, India, in 2009, and the 122nd MBL Physiology Course, held in Woods Hole, USA, in 2016.
