Here we post some interesting samples of our science: videos, data, modeling results, animations and all kinds of pretty pictures related to tubulins and microtubules. Enjoy! :)
Using the Brownian dynamics simulations, we investigate the mechanisms of microtubule nucleation, assembly, disassembly and generation of mechanical forces by them. [Gudimchuk et al 2020]

All-atom simulations of tubulins, the main building blocks of microtubules
At this level of detail we are trying to understand how the properties of microtubules arise from the structure of their elementary subunits. [Fedorov et al 2019]
Brownian dynamics of growing microtubule tips
Monte-Carlo simulations of microtubule dynamics
Using the first reaction Gillespie algorithm, we model microtubule assembly, dissasembly and transitions between these states on the spatial scale of tens of microns and temporal scale up to several hours. This approach is also applicable to investistigate microtubule modulation by proteins and drugs. [Alexandrova et al 2022]
Reconstitution of microtubule dynamics in vitro
To observe dynamics of isolated microtubules, we developed an assay, in which microtubuless grow from the stabilizaed seeds, overhanging from microfabricated pedestals. Microtubule dynamics are vizualized with Differential Interference Contrast (DIC) microscopy. [Alexandrova et al 2022]
